About the role

We are looking for a Maintainer (Mine Water Management) to be part of the Hope Downs 1 Team. The role is a great opportunity for a safety conscious individual looking to continually improve and contribute to our culture and world class asset.

Working a FIFO 8 days on, 6 off roster and reporting to the Mine Water Management Supervisor, you will be: 

  • Carrying out scheduled Dewatering Maintenance in areas including water supply bore fields
  • Installing and servicing submersible and sump pumps
  • Carrying out breakdown repairs for water supply bore fields
  • Support the safety culture and ensure that the RTIO core values are always adhered.
  • Responsible for identifying critical spares and maintaining accurate inventory for Dewatering
  • Identifying Improvements with Dewatering maintenance tactics
  • Providing operational feedback to supervisors and being responsible for following Rio Tinto Iron Ore safe work practices 
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of all task instructions and procedures to ensure they are always adhered to.
  • Maintaining high standards of housekeeping in and out of the workshops and other areas to ensure a safe work environment and effectively managing risks.
  • Working proactively and efficiently in a team environment
  • Will be required to conduct task outside your work role (general maintenance works and assisting other trades)

What you’ll bring

To be considered for this role, you will have: 

  • Australian Driver’s License (C-class) Manual
  • Trade Certificate – Mechanical
  • Poly Welding Trade Cert (preferred)
  • High Risk Work Licenses (LF, WP, DG, CN) – (preferred)

The Hope Downs mine is located in the Hamersley Group which forms the middle layer of Mount Bruce Group in the Marra Mamba Iron Formation.
