About the role

We are looking for a Maintainer Utilities to join our Utilities team in Weipa. This residential role is ideal for individuals seeking flexible work arrangements, including return-to-work parents looking to balance career and family life.
You’ll be part of a supportive team maintaining the Tailings and Process Water Supply infrastructure, with work hours tailored to suit your needs.
Reporting to the Supervisor, Utilities, your responsibilities will include:
Operating and maintaining tailings and water infrastructure
Monitoring dam performance and conducting routine inspections
Potable water and waste water plant operation
Water sampling
Ensuring safe and reliable execution of maintenance tasks
What you’ll bring
Trade qualification (e.g., plumber, fitter, boilermaker, electrician) – desirable but not essential
Experience operating heavy equipment – Desirable but not essential
Water sampling/treatment plant operation experience – Desirable but not essential
A current C Class Manual Driver’s License
A commitment to safety and teamwork
A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
