We are Australia’s largest pure-play coal producer generating over $10 billion in Foreign Direct Investment; owning, operating or participating in coal mines across NSW, Queensland and Western Australia. 

Managed by Yancoal, Cameby Downs is a small open cut thermal coal mine in the Surat Basin in southern Queensland, between Chinchilla and Miles. We employ approximately 200 people, and aim to support our local communities.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work towards completing a 4 year Diesel Fitter/Mechanic apprenticeship in the Mining Industry.  You will be self-motivated and willing to learn.  You will respectfully follow instruction from qualified technicians and management, showing the necessary commitment to both on the job training and TAFE training. 

Skills and Experience

You will be required to have the following: 

• Completed Year 10 as a minimum
• Mechanical aptitude 
• Self-motivate and willingness to learn
• Be able to follow instruction and communicate well, both written and verbally
• Work in a team environment
• Current Drivers Licence
