About the role
In the role of Auto Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be required to maintain and repair Heavy Mobile Electrical Surface Equipment, perform maintenance schedules per work management processes and ensure electrical systems are in a safe and efficient state.
This role is being offered on a 7:7 D/N Roster, FIFO from Darwin/ Cairns or Residential on Groote Eylandt on a full-time ongoing basis.
Some of your main responsibilities will include:
Key Accountabilities
- Ensuring compliance with the work management process for work execution whilst capturing all related transactional data into the SAP system
- Apply updates to work procedures to ensure they are accurate and relevant to equipment as per the work management process
- Ensure adequate scoping of corrective work to facilitate the planning process
- Monitor recurring faults and provide feedback and recommendations to rectify the fault
- Inspect vehicles for faults and roadworthiness before handing back to user and test vehicles after completion of work before delivery to users
- Trace and correct faults on Mobile Equipment
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines
- Assess, repair and maintain the following systems on motor vehicles:
- Air-conditioning systems
- Electrical systems (leads, Hydraulics, battery terminals, etc.)
- Attend to vehicle breakdowns
- Carry out a detailed inspection of an auto electrical system on Mobile Equipment
- Diagnose and repair faults on advanced auto electrical circuits
Shared Accountabilities
- Maintain and repair tooling and equipment in a safe and usable condition
- Clean workshops and building surrounds
- Dispose of waste products in line with applicable regulations
About you
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced & qualified tradesperson who is able to operate plant equipment efficiently, diagnose faults and complete services and repairs.
You’ll be a great fit if you have:
- Experience in Caterpillar, Cummins and/or Hitachi
- Demonstrated understanding of principles of Mobile Mining Equipment fault finding and diagnostics
- Understanding of Mobile Mining Equipment Electrical Systems

- Trade (Auto Electrician)
- Refrigerant handling license
- HR Licence
- Dogging Ticket
- Gantry Crane
- Forklift Licence
