We are Australia’s largest pure-play coal producer generating over $10 billion in Foreign Direct Investment; owning, operating or participating in coal mines across NSW, Queensland and Western Australia. 

Managed by Yancoal, Cameby Downs is a small open cut thermal coal mine in the Surat Basin in southern Queensland, between Chinchilla and Miles. We employ approximately 230 people, and aim to support our local communities.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Maintenance Leading Hand, you will be part of a dynamic and motivated team. The role is responsible for supporting the timely maintenance and repair of heavy coal mining equipment, to maintain a safe and productive fleet. Equipment includes, but is not limited to dump trucks, loaders, excavators, water trucks and graders.

• Working a 7 on 7 off roster pattern, Day Shift 
• Working both independently and as part of a team
• Responsible for the monitoring, identifying and rectifying potential issues with the heavy equipment
• Identifying hazards in the workplace

Skills and Experience

• Good communication skills
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word
• Good problem-solving skills
• Previous experience in the maintenance and repairs of heavy equipment in a mining or heavy industry environment
• Relevant trade qualifications
• Current open drivers licence
• RII tickets/licences for operating trucks and other heavy machinery
• RII Service mine plant & equipment
• RII Test operational functions of vehicles and equipment
• Elevated work platform greater than 11 meters
• Working at heights
• ARCtick RHL Licence (desirable)
