About the role

In the role of Maintenance Boilermaker Technician, you will be required to safely repair, rebuild, and fabricate Mobile Equipment as per work management processes, maintenance schedules and work instructions.

This role is being offered on a 7:7 D/N Roster, FIFO from Darwin/ Cairns or Residential on Groote Eylandt on a full-time ongoing basis. 

Some of your main responsibilities will include:

Key Accountabilities

Maintenance operations:

• Ensure compliance to the work management process for work execution and capture related transactional data into the SAP system 
• Execute work orders as per schedule and relevant work instructions associated with the work orders
• Provide input into root case analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affection equipment reliability 
• Initiate updates to work procedures to ensure they are accurate and relevant to equipment as per the work management process
• Ensure adequate scoping of corrective work to facilitate the planning process
• Ensure returns of unused or reparable materials are processed accurately 
• Review and request updates to work management and other master data as required

Mobile equipment fault finding:

• Gather information directly from the end users
• Monitor recurring faults and provide feedback and recommendations to rectify the fault
• Inspect vehicles for faults and roadworthiness before handing back to user
• Test vehicles after completion of work before delivery to user

Mobile equipment maintenance and repair:       

• Trace and correct faults on all mobile surface mining equipment systems and components
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections surface mining equipment 
• Assess, repair and maintain all mobile surface mining equipment
• Attend to vehicle breakdowns

Boilermaker maintenance:

• Carry out all repairs and preventative maintenance on mobile surface mining equipment
• Diagnose and repair faults on all mobile surface mining equipment
• Carry out detailed inspections of mobile surface mining equipment

Auto component installations:  

• Dismantle automotive components
• Install automotive components

About you

You’ll be a great fit if you have:

• Strong relevant Mobile Maintenance experience
• Proficient experience in Caterpillar, Cummins and/ or Hitachi
• Mining Excavator/ Loader bucket repair experience
• Experience in general fabrication
• Crack Testing/ Fault finding experience
• Proficient in ARC Gouging, Lancing
• Line Boring Experience would be highly regarded
• Experience using 1SAP and WEBSIS

• Gantry Crane
• Forklift Licence
