About Olympic Dam

One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. The local township of Roxby Downs is an active and progressive community offering a variety of modern, well equipped housing, educational, health, sporting, leisure, shopping and cultural facilities.

About the Role

We are inviting applications to join our Mine Maintenance team in the role of Technician Mechanical Maintenance Drills. This role provides support to the team, by adhering to operating requirements and ensuring individual, team and site objectives are met, while maintaining an enthusiastic and safety focused approach.

In this role you will:

• Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day
• Provide mechanical trade skills to perform unplanned and/or breakdown maintenance on our Drill fleet
• Assist with planned maintenance work where applicable
• Develop a close working relationship with Mine personnel to ensure that all plant downtime issues are escalated correctly and rectified immediately

About You

• Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way
• Trade qualified in a relevant discipline
• Demonstrable experience post trade in hydraulics/pneumatics, preferably within a similar environment
• Previous experience with Atlas Copco M2C Boomer and L6C Simba would be highly advantageous, along with riggers, doggers, crane and NF01/NF02 welding tickets
• A team player with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels
