ABOUT THE ROLE 

This role is a Permanent position on a 9-day fortnight roster, at our Worsley Alumina Refinery, which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.

As the Maintenance Electrical Superintendent – Analysis & Improvement, you will be responsible for designing and implementing systems and processes that deliver equipment performance outcomes by focusing on reliability engineering, deployment of effective maintenance tactics and monitoring and controlling the maintenance quality process

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to: 

  • Leading and developing a team of 15+ multidisciplined electrical engineers & specialists.
  • Responsible for the Electrical compliance and risk governance process at Worsley
  • Delivers effective electrical equipment maintenance strategies, tactics, and associated documentation to align with Strategic Asset Management Plans for High voltage, generation, and low voltage systems.
  • Provides electrical technical support to the electrical execution teams on site.
  • Develop short-, medium- and long-term plans for electrical Asset Health using defect elimination tools that includes replacement strategies involving Opex and developing business cases for Capex Projects.

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

  • 15 years’ experience in Industrial Maintenance of which at least 2 years in a supervisory level or typical Senior Engineer/specialist level
  • Expert/Professional that has detailed knowledge of principles and concepts related to maintaining, Reliability and operating electrical equipment
  • Budget & Forecasting for Electrical department across the Worsley Refinery & Port
  • Self-reliant contributor with proven proficiency in the Maintenance / Work management planning area
  • Can coach and develop team members
  • Demonstrates leadership capability to deliver South32’s Safety Guarantee and is competent in people management.

Qualifications for this position are: 

  • Bachelor of Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering Degree or;
  • Cert III Trade with Diploma in Relevant Electrical Technical Field or Similar to fullfiil requirements of the role.
