Maintenance Electrical Supervisor

Located on the tropical Groote Eylandt in the Northern Territory, GEMCO is a South32 Company, the operation is accountable for over 20% of the world’s manganese ore production. Groote Eylandt is home to the Anindilyakwa people, who are the traditional owners of the land and have been working alongside GEMCO since 1963. 
  
About the role 

This is a permanent position, reporting to the Superintendent Electrical you will provide electrical expertise and leadership to ensure that the electrical assets of GEMCO are suitably maintained and in compliance with the relevant safety and technical standards

This role is being offered as a permanent contract that is residential on Groote Eylandt or FIFO Darwin or Cairns on a 7days on 7days off roster
 
Accountabilities include:

• Lead the electrical execution team to the safe delivery of planned work and break in work
• Ensure all electrical work is designed to standards and delivered effectively with minimal disruption to the electrical assets
• Develop electrical weekly plans in cooperation with the planning team and electrical co-ordinator. Ensure all work is safely executed in line with the plan
• Effectively execute work management and procurement activities
• Assist electrical workgroup with technical, work management or other enquiries
• Manage contractors to achieve business requirements
• Ensure labour requirement for weekly and shutdown works is aligned to plan including engagement of labour hire and generation of associated purchase requisitions
• Review inspection reports, statutory requirements and other condition based monitoring activities and scope/raise associated repair/rectification notifications for execution
• Design, plan and execute electrical project work and improvements through the electrical execution teams or via engagement with contracting partners

About you

You’re a good fit with this role if you have the following attributes:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an electrical maintenance role within the mining industry
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a leadership role
• NT ‘A’ Grade Electrical Workers Licence
