Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead.  Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville. ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a permanent position on a 8:6 roster, FIFO from Townsville, Cairns and Brisbane or DIDO from Mount Isa.

Reporting to the Superintendent Mobile Maintenance, the purpose of this role is to lead continuous improvement, investigations, and condition monitoring services for Mobile Maintenance. Support Mobile Maintenance execution teams in complex troubleshooting and development of complex repair scopes. Identify & implement improvements and efficiencies relating to safety, cost & reliability. Promote the business values, a problem solving and learning environment across the team.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Use business systems and personal leadership to demonstrate and deliver health, safety and environment standards across the team
  • Ensure all legal, statutory and business HSE requirements are fulfilled and all works being conducted are compliant
  • Report any incidents or deviations from HSE requirements, lead and participate in investigations as required
  • Owner of improvement within Mobile Maintenance and implementing ideas/actions to increase maintenance efficiency, quality or, reduce risk or cost.
  • Cultivate a team culture of problem solving, communication and continuous improvement.
  • Support Superintendent to drive required work standards across execution team members
  • Coach and mentor Mobile Maintenance team members to develop capability and desired culture in business
  • Communicate and interact with other Cannington departments to ensure any interactions, supplies or outputs meet requirements
  • Responsible for quality of data and reporting of department metrics to assess performance
  • Review condition monitoring reports, raise relevant notifications to action. Perform adhoc analysis when required.
  • Support Mobile Maintenance execution teams in complex troubleshooting and development of complex repair scopes.
  • Identify and perform CNN Lvl1 Root Cause Analysis (RCA). Identify & implement actions that will eliminate or reduce the risk of the root cause
  • Bill of materials creation & maintenance for existing equipment
  • Fulfill responsibilities of Maintenance Weekend Duty Manager as required

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

  • Demonstrated leadership attributes and flexible communication styles
  • Experience in supervising and managing teams of people
  • Demonstrated experience in performing maintenance, heavy industry or mining experience will be desirable
  • Relevant qualification and/or demonstrated experience in engineering, improvement & root cause analysis will be desirable
  • Understanding and experience in using a CMMS, SAP preferred
  • Computer literacy (word, excel, powerpoint)

Qualifications for this position are:

  • Mining Supervisor Qualification S123/G189
  • Relevant qualification and/or demonstrated experience in engineering, improvement & root cause analysis will be desirable
