Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical

Hail Creek mine is a large scale, long-life open cut operation, located roughly 120 kilometres south-west of Mackay in the northern Bowen Basin mining region of central Queensland. Reporting to the Engineering & Reliability Superintendent, you will provide technical support across all areas of the Open Cut Engineering and Maintenance teams. You will be responsible for:

·       The implementation of systems and standards for maintenance and asset management

·       Condition & performance monitoring

·       Developing and executing improvement and reliability projects to optimise total asset costs

·       Engaging with company departments to provide technical and engineering assistance

·       Compiling of Engineering Reports, Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Procedure writing, Engineering Calculations etc.

·       Development of Work packs and associated Close Out Reports for engineering projects

·       Review of procedures, drawings, material certification and other order related documentation to ensure technical compliance in accordance with industry/ standards and specifications

The successful candidate will bring the following skills and experience to the role:

·       Engineering Degree

·       3+ years’ experience in the Mining, Energy, Defence or Marine industry preferred

·       Excellent spoken and written skills

·       Detail orientated with demonstrated capabilities in planning and scheduling 

·       Functional knowledge of processes such as Six Sigma/LEAN principals Excellent communication and team work skills
