About the role:

Peabody Energy is seeking a high-calibre Maintenance Manager to join the team of professionals based at our CMJV mine site.

Reporting to the Operations Manager/SSE, the Maintenance Manager is accountable for managing and leading the maintenance operations across the CMJV; providing effective leadership that is ethical and innovative to meet maintenance and organisational targets.

In this role you will be responsible for managing the surface mining plant and equipment in a safe and cost-effective manner to achieve optimum levels of utilisation and availability to meet production targets.  

Duties will include:

  • Lead and drive safe working attitudes and behaviours including compliance with all regulatory and statutory compliance throughout the business
  • Demonstrate a detailed understanding of relevant costs and spending analyses to achieve optimal outcomes for the mine
  • Ensure that assets are managed effectively to achieve budget reliability rates
  • Preparing annual maintenance budgets, cost control and capital equipment justifications Contribute to the maintenance section of monthly reporting & cost review meetings
  • Provide for mentorship, training and development supporting the Maintenance team, striving towards creating a high-performance work environment
  • Ensure that adequate numbers of experienced and qualified professional staff and tradespeople are engaged to fulfil business requirements

 About you:

  • Mechanical Trade (preferable Diesel Fitting) and/or appropriate Engineering degree
  • 7 to 10 years appropriate experience, relevant to the requirements and seniority of the role
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to summarise data and provide recommendations
  • Have exceptional people and leadership skills and a desire to improve and develop people and processes
  • Ability to function as a senior leader both in the Maintenance Department as well as being a member of the site Senior Leadership Team

The Lifestyle:

This position is offered on a 9 day fortnight (Monday to Friday, Monday to Thursday) roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah or Nebo), DIDO or FIFO lifestyle.

You will have a full use vehicle for Residential or DIDO candidates and paid flights to and from Brisbane for FIFO candidates

Employees living residentially may have access to a $15,000 housing allowance and may have the ability to salary sacrifice up to 50% of rental payments.
