Location BHP’s Mt Arthur Coal is the largest individual coal production site in the region. Located less than 5 kilometres from Muswellbrook, NSW we produce high quality, clean energy coal for international and domestic customers. About the Role
As a Supervisor at BHP, we will provide you an environment where health and wellbeing are seen as a pre-requisite for safety and productivity. You will have access to training and professional development tools, which will support you in your role. You will be empowered by your Superintendent and encouraged to ensure your team are connected to their strategy and plan.
This opportunity is being offered on a residential basis in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of NSW where you will enjoy a family friendly roster consisting of 2 days on. 3 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on and 2 days off. Please note relocation assistance and accommodation is not included and will be the responsibility of our successful candidate.
Leading a broad range of non-process infrastructure maintenance activities include (but not limited to) high voltage reticulation, Plumbing & Carpentry, Water & Fuel Network maintenance and civil building works for our Infrastructure Team will provide you with challenges and varied scope of work during each shift. Leading a team of high performing Technicians, you will be responsible for:
• Maintaining a high profile in the promotion of safe working conditions and practices to ensure a safe working environment and outcomes • Demonstrating and instilling an overriding commitment to health, safety and environment • Executing the maintenance plan in conjunction with Site Maintenance Execution, the planning team and other stakeholders • Leading, coaching and mentoring employees to deliver on plan and build a high performing team • Optimising the utilisation of resources throughout the schedule week • Identifying and providing input in the continuous improvement of our Maintenance processes • Liaising with the Infrastructure team to develop, validate and challenge the scope of work, including preparation requirements, isolation requirements and maintenance activities • Liaising with our Contracting Partners for various activities such as mobilisation, task execution, close out and demobilisation

About You
As the successful applicant you will possesses the following skills and experience: • A genuine commitment to safety • Previous experience in leading a maintenance team in a frontline supervisory capacity • Previous experience leading a high performing team is critical • An understanding the work management process • Planning and scheduling experience is desirable • Continuous improvement and project management experience would be beneficial • Strong 1 SAP experience is desirable • Current C Class drivers licence • Mechanical or Electrical Trade Qualification essential • Proven safety leadership skills in the field is a given • Strong communication, negotiation, influencing and relationship management skills • Experience with structured work management processes is preferred.
