About the role

In the role of Maintenance LV Fitter Technician, you will be required to maintain light vehicle fleet and mobile ancillary surface mining equipment in a safe and efficient manner as per work management process, maintenance schedules and work instructions.

This role is being offered on a 7:7 D/N Roster, FIFO from Darwin/ Cairns or Residential on Groote Eylandt on a full-time ongoing basis. 

Some of your main responsibilities will include:

Key Individual accountabilities:

• Monitor recurring faults and provide feedback and recommendations to rectify the fault
• Inspect vehicles for faults and roadworthiness before handing back to user
• Test vehicles after completion of work before delivery to users
• Trace and correct faults on diesel engines
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel engines
• Replace the diesel engine of a self-propelled mobile machine
• Assess, repair and maintain the following systems on motor vehicles: exhaust systems, cooling systems, transmission and drive trains, suspension systems, steering systems, brake systems, fuel system of a diesel engine, Turbo charger systems, Air-conditioning systems, Electrical systems (leads, battery terminals, etc.), pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems
• Repair and replace undercarriage, framework and ground engagement tools
• Attend to vehicle breakdowns
• Remove and fit automobile mechanical and electrical components
• Complete Work Orders and SAP requirements

Key shared responsibilities:

• Clean workshops and building surrounds
• Dispose of waste products in line with applicable regulations

About you

You’ll be a great fit if you have:

• Strong relevant Mobile Maintenance experience
• Proficient in Caterpillar, Cummins, Hitachi
• Demonstrated understanding of principles of Mobile Mining Equipment fault finding and diagnostics
• Knowledge of Mobile Mining Equipment Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems
• Understanding of Mobile Mining Equipment Electrical Systems
• Experience using 1SAP, WEBSIS, Cat. ET

• Trade (Diesel Mechanic)
• HR Licence
• Dogging Ticket
• Gantry Crane
• Forklift Licence
