About the Role

The requirements of this role include first and foremost is focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, engaging, developing & coaching your team.    The Maintenance Execution Supervisor role reports to the Hot Metals Maintenance Execution Superintendent and will be responsible for leading a team of Maintenance Technicians, working towards improving and maintaining the reliability and availability of the Kalgoorlie Nickel Smelter. As the Maintenance Execution Supervisor, you will have strong leadership skills and have the ability to positively influence our safety culture. This opportunity is based at our Kalgoorlie Nickel Smelter on a residential 5 days on / 2 days off days off roster.  

In this role our successful candidate will be require to: •    Ensure conformance with the BHP Charter, the BHP Group Level Documents, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligations. •    Have an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development. •    Ensure compliance with the requirements of the Work Health and Safety Act. •    Manage safe execution of Converter Rebuilds and other Maintenance Projects including coordinating plans and resources •    Mentor and coach your work team in-field concerning risk management and verification of task •    Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure plans are executed appropriately •    Drive and embed culture of continuous improvements and standardisation •    Deliver to project milestones •    Manage the forward log work packages and scope of work for Converter Rebuilds, Maintenance Projects, Shutdown and Weekly Schedules to enable safe and efficient execution of tasks •    Support the day-to-day completion of both scheduled maintenance work as well as breakdown works

It is essential that you demonstrate impeccable safety behaviours and being safety focused is part of your everyday.     Ideally as our successful candidate, you will possess the following; •    Have a genuine commitment to safety •    Hold a Mechanical trade qualification   •    Previous site experience in a similar industry in a Supervisory capacity •    A strong safety background with experience in site health and safety management systems •    Solid leadership skills and experience managing workgroups •    Technical experience within operations and maintenance in a processing plant. •    Great communication, negotiation, influencing and relationship management skills •    Self-reliant contributor with distinctive proficiency in executing and supervising maintenance activities.
