We are Australia’s largest pure-play coal producer generating over $10 billion in Foreign Direct Investment; owning, operating or participating in coal mines across NSW, Queensland and Western Australia. Managed by Yancoal, Cameby Downs is a small open cut thermal coal mine in the Surat Basin in southern Queensland, between Chinchilla and Miles. We employ approximately 200 people, and aim to support our local communities.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will be part of a dynamic and motivated team. The role is responsible for short and mid-term horizon planning and scheduling of general preventative maintenance activities, major component change outs and overhauls, condition monitoring, major planned repairs, warranty follow-up, and scheduling of access/availability of Cameby owned exchange components when required for site. The role contributes to asset availability, reliability and achievement of full capacity performance. It is a central asset performance role with key role interactions with members of the Operational Maintenance team. The roster will be an 7:7 roster, working 7days on and 7 days off, Wednesday to Tuesday.

Skills and Experience

  • High level of analytical and problem solving skills
  • Skills in risk awareness, hazard identification and a strong commitment to safety performance
  • Computer literate and knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems and electronic data maintenance systems - SAP preferred
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to coach others in this A focus on continuous improvement
  • Well developed planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to exercise initiative and work both independently and cooperatively
  • Previous experience working in a similar role with mobile plant
  • Experience identifying and implementing cost efficient initiatives
  • Proven experience reviewing and prioritising defects to eliminate potential injury or damage to equipment
  • Experience monitoring and producing maintenance schedules incorporating maintenance hours, service estimates and component replacement
  • Ability to understand functionality of business systems and provide relevant data for business purposes.
