Mangoola Coal is a modern open cut coal operation within Glencore Coal Assets Australia, located approximately 20 kilometres west of Muswellbrook and 10 kilometres north of Denman in the scenic wine growing and tourism region of the Hunter Valley. Mangoola Coal is proud to support of the local community and has received multiple awards and industry recognition for environmental excellence and safety.
The site produces 10mtpa of export coal with extensive coal reserves to support a long mine life. The mine operates a fleet of large mining equipment including Liebherr excavators 996B/9400/9250, Caterpillar 793D and 789C rear dump trucks and Caterpillar ancillary equipment. With the latest proven technology, a sound resource and a growing dynamic team culture, Mangoola Coal is an industry leading operation.
We are looking for a highly motivated suitably experienced maintenance planner to join us in our mission to achieve excellence in the process of asset management in our business. This position is permanent full time, Monday to Friday role. We offer an attractive remuneration package including performance-based bonuses. Relocation assistance may be available for eligible candidates.

In this role you will be responsible for:
- All aspects of the efficient planning and scheduling processes on large mining equipment at Mangoola which includes;
- Liebherr 996B / 9400 / 9250 Excavators
- L1850 Loaders
- Drills
- Caterpillar D11/D10 Dozer fleet
- CAT 793 and 789 Mechanical Haul Trucks
- CAT 777 Watercarts
- CAT Graders and other ancillary fleet
- Manage the routine maintenance strategies for our mining equipment including short term and long term planning roles.
- Promoting and maintaining a high level of positive safety performance & workplace culture through teamwork, personal commitment, and application of the Mangoola Coal values.
- Promoting positive relationships with our stakeholders & community; and
- Taking all reasonable steps to minimise impact on the environment.
About you:
- A trade qualification and experience in heavy mining equipment and maintenance planning is essential.
- Have a minimum of 4 years’ demonstrated essential experience in a planning role at a large open cut operation and experience in SAP is highly desirable.
- You have a high regard for your personal safety and the safety of your teammates.
- You have the ability to follow a plan and the resilience to adapt to a constantly changing environment.
- You demonstrate a positive attitude, reliability, and commitment to working proactively.
- You are a team player with a high level of safety awareness, an attitude for outstanding performance, and a willingness to contribute to a winning team.
