Yancoal MTW is seeking a motivated and results driven Maintenance Planner to join the Field team on a permanent basis.

Owned and Operated by Yancoal Australia, Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) is an open cut mine that provides the opportunity to live and work locally. Located 15 kilometres south-west of Singleton in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, MTW relies on both dragline and load haul systems for their continuous operations. The MTW Mine is the largest open cut operation in the region, employing approximately 1,450 people who reside in the local and surrounding communities.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, your focus will be to ensure the fleet is maintained in a safe, reliable and cost-effective way that enables the business to achieve performance targets. Working closely with the engineering and maintenance execution team, this pivotal role is responsible for:
- Preparation and delivery of the weekly maintenance plan for equipment;
- Identifying and pro-actively initiating maintenance improvement opportunities;
- Providing technical support and advice to the operation;
- Managing work order data and maintenance documentation;
- Monitor and control maintenance expenditure through effective budgeting, cost tracking, and forecasting;
- Interacting during execution events to continuously improve planning accuracy;
- Proactively engage in safety improvement initiatives and promote a strong safety culture;
- Ensure maintenance activities are delivered within approved budgets while maintaining equipment availability and reliability targets.

To be successful in the role you will also display the following skills and attributes:
- Relevant trade/diploma qualifications with a mechanical or electrical focus;
- Demonstrated high level planning experience in a similar role within an open cut coal environment;
- Drive and focus on continuous improvement;
- High level of attention to detail;
- Strong computer literacy;
- Experience in the use of SAP or any other CMMS is highly regarded;
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to work autonomously and within a large team environment;
- The ability to build rapport and maintain relationships is crucial to the role combined with your excellent multi-tasking skills, ability to prioritise and your practical approach.
