We are looking for a Maintenance Scheduler to join our Dampier Salt - Port Hedland Maintenance team. The purpose of the role will be to complete all maintenance scheduling activities as prescribed in the Rio Tinto work management process.

This role is a varied opportunity, where you will be responsible for all incoming work from SAP for the light vehicle, fixed plant, mobile equipment, and structural integrity areas by taking appropriate actions to ensure a high-quality standard of planned work. Working a local/residential 5:2, 4:3 dayshift only roster and reporting to the Senior Planner, you will be:

Reporting to the Senior Planner working in a friendly tight knit team in Port Hedland, you will be:

  • Completing daily work schedules for all assets mobile and fixed plant, as well as support within the structural integrity scopes
  • Working closely with the Maintenance Supervisor’s to identify and communicate critical tasks
  • Developing positive relationships with the execution team and planners
  • Regularly reporting on key metrics
  • Facilitating work management meetings

What you will bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • A current WA manual driver’s license
  • Leadership experience and confidence in leading, developing, and coaching team members
  • Demonstrated ability in meeting targets and bringing the team on a journey of continuous development
  • Well-developed stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated complex problem-solving abilities to deliver solutions across an operation
  • Experience and understanding of Mobile & fixed plant maintenance planning (desirable)
  • Experience in preparing annual budgets and costs management

Where you’ll be working

Dampier Salt Limited (DSL), located in Western Australia and comprising three solar operations – Dampier, Port Hedland and Lake MacLeod – is the world’s largest exporter of seaborne salt, with capacity to produce approximately 10.3 million tonnes every year.

At our Lake MacLeod operations, we also mine and export gypsum to customers in Australia and Southeast Asia.
