Energy Resources of Australia (ERA) operated Ranger, Australia’s longest continuous uranium mine, surrounded by, but separate from Kakadu National Park in the Northern Territory. In accordance with Government legislation, all mining operations and uranium processing at Ranger ceased on 8 January 2021.
Today, ERA’s strategic priority is the comprehensive rehabilitation of the Ranger Project Area to a standard where it can be reincorporated into the surrounding Kakadu National Park if Traditional Owners and the Commonwealth Government wish.

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Scheduler to schedule the primary and secondary maintenance work for fixed plant.
This role is a great opportunity for a professional who is looking to grow their skills to move forward with the business as career opportunities arise. Working a 5 day on 2 day off roster and reporting to the Senior Reliability Engineer, you will be:
- Assisting in the annual Shutdown plans
- Participate in HS&E meetings as and when required
- Demonstrating a personal commitment to safety and liaising with Government inspectorate where required
- Participating in meetings with planning and scheduling of maintenance activities
- Expediting parts, stage parts and maintain stock levels
- Working with supervisor to schedule & reschedule work
- Conducting weekly scheduling meetings
- Providing metric reports
- Maintaining diesel alternator maintenance records
- Rescheduling primary maintenance plans after consult with the planner
- Coordinating the engagement of external contractors including mobilization, training and onboarding
- Ensuring work orders are scanned to their relevant work orders in the SAP system
- Printing work orders weekly from SAP
- Running end of week and scheduling meetings
- Managing breakdown notifications
- Liaising with inventory controller to manage material stock levels
- Developing an understanding Brine Concentrator maintenance needs and requirements and participating in continuous improvement programs with operations personnel, maintenance personnel and OEMs
What you will bring to this role
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Trade Certificate in relevant trade to role requirements
- Minimum ‘C’ class Drivers License
- Demonstrated post trade experience on fixed plant maintenance, using CMMS (computerized maintenance management system)
- SAP, Excel, Word, MS Project
- Working knowledge of OHS regulations
- Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical equipment
- SAP maintenance experience
- Experience in working in an operating plant/water treatment environment
- Experience in mechanical and electrical maintenance

Where you will be working
Energy Resources of Australia Ltd (ERA) is a publicly listed company with Rio Tinto its major shareholder. ERA has mined and produced uranium oxide from its Ranger mine in the beautiful and rugged Alligator Rivers area of the Northern Territory since 1980. The Ranger mine is located on Aboriginal land, and is surrounded by, but separate from Kakadu National Park.
Mining at Ranger ceased in November 2012 and since then, Ranger has been processing ore from stockpiles.
The role is either Darwin based on a Bus in Bus out arrangement between Ranger Mine and Darwin, or locally based residential in Jabiru. Subsidised housing arrangements for Jabiru residents will be included.
