We are Australia’s largest pure-play coal producer generating over $10 billion in Foreign Direct Investment; owning, operating or participating in coal mines across NSW, Queensland and Western Australia. 

Managed by Yancoal, Cameby Downs is a small open cut thermal coal mine in the Surat Basin in southern Queensland, between Chinchilla and Miles. We employ approximately 200 people, and aim to support our local communities.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

The Serviceperson is responsible for effectively carrying out the scheduled and unscheduled servicing and preventative maintenance of mobile equipment on site, to allow for maximum equipment availability.  The Serviceperson is responsible for carrying out workshop and field duties in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with company policies. 

  • Comply with the OHS Act, Regulation, Coal Mining Safety and Health Act and the Coal Mining Safety and Health Regulations 
  • Comply with the operation's Safety and Health Management System and Environmental Management System
  • Carry out servicing and maintenance of mobile equipment, adhoc and as per maintenance schedule
  • Carry out refuelling of mobile equipment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with mobile equipment
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting and information regarding repairs and servicing
  • Maintain documentation regarding operational and maintenance issues
  • Perform regular Plant/Equipment inspections 

Skills and Experience

  • Thorough understanding of individual responsibilities in relation to the Coal Mining Safety & Health Act and associated regulations
  • Advanced servicing and fault finding knowledge on heavy equipment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills, word processing and spread sheeting
  • Ability to self-manage and prioritise workloads
  • Ability to exercise initiative and work both independently and as a team, as required
  • Skilled in hazard identification and responsive to safety issues

QUALIFICATIONS

  • RII tickets for operating trucks and heavy machinery
  • RII Service mine plant and equipment
  • RII Test operational functions of vehicles and equipment
  • Current HR Drivers Licence
