About the role: We are currently seeking Maintenance Supervisors to join our Wilpinjong Mine.  Our Wilpinjong Mine is an open-cut mine located 58 kilometres northeast of Mudgee producing a high quality thermal coal for export and domestic markets.

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will be responsible for managing all planned, breakdown and repair maintenance activities as well as communicating changes that will impact the mine priorities.  You will be part of a dynamic team culture contributing to the successful performance of the mine.

Duties will include:   

  • Providing practical input into the content of all short and long term maintenance plans 
  • Providing leadership, motivation and support to all team members, taking accountability for team performance including contractors
  • Executing all planned, breakdown and improvement work, minor projects and reliability initiatives
  • Reducing equipment downtime by ensuring all maintenance activities are planned, manned and carried out to a high standard, in a safe and timely manner.
  • Promoting a team culture of continuous improvement and innovation, including cost saving initiatives
  • Communicate issues that impact the planned work and extend equipment downtimes
  • Use problem solving skills combined with self-motivation to focus on developing solutions and plans to challenges presented in the workplace

This position is offered on a life style roster, 12.5 hour shifts and can allow for a residential lifestyle in nearby Mudgee district.

About the candidate:

  • Hold a Trade or Tertiary Qualification in a Mechanical discipline 
  • Minimum of 5 years demonstrated leadership capability in a similar role.  
  • Experience in applying best practice maintenance techniques to optimize equipment availability
  • Knowledge of field equipment including CAT, Hitachi, Leibherr and Epiroc drills
  • Experience in SAP maintenance applications will be advantageous.  
  • Uncompromising commitment to safety
