About the role: We are currently seeking a Maintenance Superintendent at our Coppabella Moorvale Joint Venture. Our Coppabella Moorvale mine complex consists of two open-cut mine operations located approximately 140 kilometers southwest of Mackay that produce premium low-volatile PCI coal for export markets.
Reporting to the Maintenance & Engineering Manager, you will safely and efficiently oversee the Maintenance function to meet mine targets in line with production schedules.
You will also provide technical maintenance support to the Maintenance Supervisors when required, enabling the operation to drive the delivery of key performance targets.
Duties will include:
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements and all Peabody site policies and procedures
- Delivery of a safe and healthy workplace and ensure all safety incidents and actions are closed out in a timely manner
- Ensure the delivery of effective maintenance planning, forecasting and budget outcomes
- Ensure all statutory inspections and maintenance tooling/safety equipment is maintained and periodic calibrations/inspections are recorded
- Develop a continuous improvement pipeline along with consistently delivering solutions that enhance business outcomes including where required working with OEMs and other Peabody sites
- Ensure machine health monitoring and assessment information is actioned to delivery machine and component life
- Minimise production downtime & scheduled maintenance through effective planning/delegation techniques
- Actively promote the four pillars of the Peabody Leadership Model (Inspire, Innovate, Execute, Collaborate)
The lifestyle: This position is offered on a 9 day fortnight (Monday to Friday, Monday to Thursday) roster and can allow for a residential (Moranbah or Nebo), DIDO or FIFO lifestyle. Employees living residentially may have access to a $15,000 housing allowance and may have the ability to salary sacrifice up to 50% of rental payments.
About you:
- Qualified tradesperson
- Considerable experience in project management
- Proven experience in a similar role in an open cut environment
- Experience managing and leading a team of tradespersons
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are key components of this role as you will work with closely with a variety of stakeholders
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and ability to foster and maintain a positive safety culture
- Experience with computerised maintenance management systems; SAP along with Microsoft Project highly desirable
- Parts and equipment sourcing techniques with equipment OEM’s and after-market suppliers;
- A Sound knowledge of Master Data (Creating/Updating Task List, Maintenance Plans) experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of conducting safety inspections and completing JSA’s, Risk Assessments and an uncompromising commitment to safety.
