Illawarra Metallurgical Coal produces premium-quality, hard coking coal for steelmaking, which is transported within Australia and around the world. We operate two underground metallurgical coal mines, two preparation plants and a logistics chain.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent full-time position on a fixed roster arrangement. This position will be based at the Appin mine which is, near the coastal city of Wollongong, NSW and approximately 75 kilometres southwest of Sydney.

As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading crews in area of accountability, to achieve performance targets in a safe and efficient manner through the supervision and mentoring of workers.

You will be part of a small team of Supervisors on shift with responsibility of the Underground infrastructure including Outbye infrastructure, Conveyors, Longwall, Development, Gas Drainage and U/G mobile equipment.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Supervise a team of trades and be accountable for the safe execution of work management plans through effective use of SAP
• Establish a safety orientated, high performance culture within the team through effective mentoring & coaching; enhanced technical knowledge & promoting continuous professional development of team members
• Ensure compliance to the 1SAP work management processes and implement, maintain, and monitor safety critical risk controls as per operating discipline.
• Build and communicate accurate work schedules reflecting all work management activities, ensuring they are resourced and aligned to the 12-week planning window

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Experience working in an underground coal mine
• Previous experience working in a Supervisory role effectively managing geographically dispersed teams
• Experience with SAP is highly desirable
• Self-reliant contributor with distinctive proficiency in the Maintenance / Work management planning area

Qualifications for this position are:

• Trade Certificate or Tertiary Qualifications in a mechanical or electrical discipline.
• Supervisors Licence
• C Class Drivers Licence
