Owned and Operated by Yancoal Australia, Mount Thorley Warkworth (MTW) is one of the largest open pit operations in the area. Located 15 kilometres south-west of Singleton in the beautiful Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, MTW relies on both draglines and load haul systems as the current and preferred mining method. Our site operates continuously 24 hours a day, seven days a week and has a long and proud history, employing approximately 1350 people from local and surrounding communities, who are our most valuable asset.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Yancoal MTW is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor with strong and proven front line leadership experience to join our team on a fulltime basis. Working a rotating day and night shift roster and reporting to the Field Maintenance Coordinator, you will be responsible for the safe and effective execution of Maintenance activities. In this role, you will be responsible for: • Effective execution of priority equipment across the mining fleet ensuring safety, quality, cost and timely delivery of Maintenance activities; • Leading, mentoring and effectively managing a multi skilled crew to deliver output; • Planning, scheduling & coordinating the day to day work, assigning clear and achievable tasks to team members; • Ensuring all team members are engaged through clear understanding of role accountabilities and performance measures by providing regular feedback on performance; • Contributing to continuous improvement and optimization of site systems and assets; • Assisting with mechanical or electrical trouble shooting as required.
Skills and Experience
To succeed in the role, you will demonstrate the following skills and attributes: • Relevant trade qualifications (Electrical or Mechanical); • A can-do attitude, positively impacting culture; • Demonstrated Supervisory experience within mining maintenance; • Experience in coordination of major equipment maintenance; • Effective time management and prioritisation skills; • Strong interpersonal skills; • A hands-on solution focused approach to problem solving; • Demonstrated skills in driving operational excellence; • Proficient in the use of computer systems i.e. SAP, Microsoft office suite.
