About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent - Hydraulics, you will be responsible for the management and safe execution of maintenance activities for Drills, Excavators and Dozers in accordance with the mine safety standards, procedures and defined processes to deliver optimal production outcomes.
This is a permanent opportunity, based at Caval Ridge Mine in Central Queensland. This opportunity is being offered on a 7 on, 7 off, rotating Day and Night roster, with both FIFO and DIDO options available.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Oversee safe compliance with operating standards, procedures, work instructions & defined processes to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Continue to identify opportunities to improve the performance of people, processes and systems
- Improve fleet performance through quality maintenance practices
- Executing the maintenance plan in conjunction with Site Maintenance Execution, the planning team and other stakeholders
- Promoting a high level of team interaction and coordination
- Optimising the utilisation of resources throughout the schedule week
- Liaising with the wider Maintenance team to develop, validate and challenge the scope of work, including preparation requirements, isolation requirements and maintenance activities
- Liaising with the Planners & Schedulers to ensure schedule is updated during execution to reflect performance against plan
- Manage maintenance via SAP work management, by raising/scoping/approving notifications, and reviewing & closing work orders.
- Liaising with contracting partners for various activities such as mobilisation, task execution, close out and demobilisation
- Identify improvement opportunities and work collaboratively with other departments to ensure efficiency and production is maximized.

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent – Hydraulics, the successful candidate will:
- Demonstrate experience in leading a hydraulics maintenance team in a frontline supervisory capacity.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal and people management skills.
- Demonstrate managing multiple conflicting priorities and strong decision-making skills to achieve the best outcome for crews and production.
- Build relationships through collaborative skills, engaging others to be accountable for work conducted.
- Strong SAP & Microsoft Office skills with exposure to interpreting shift metrics to achieve availability targets.
- Support and grow a culture of diversity within the maintenance team.
- Strong organisation and prioritisation skills including time management.
- Flexible / adaptable – able to work within changing environments and work requirements.
- Previous experince with dozers, excavators and drills is desirable but not essential.
