Maintenance Systems Specialist
Work Location: Perth - Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people.
Roster: Monday to Friday
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Systems Specialist to join the business in a permanent position that will be based out of Fortescue’s Perth office.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying, investigating and analysing business processes, procedures and work practices relating to the commissioning and maintenance management of plant and equipment
- Recommending optimal business practices related to Fortescue’s maintenance system functionality
- Taking responsibility for deploying functional solutions, such as creating, adopting and implementing system test plans, which ensure acceptable quality and integrity of Fortescue’s maintenance systems
- Using project management methodologies, principles and techniques to create systems for the commissioning and maintenance management of plant and equipment
- Developing and reviewing user and training documentation, and facilitating formal training classes within the company in relation to the maintenance management of new and in-use plant and equipment
- Acting as a central reference and information source, providing guidance and assistance in the maintenance system & Engineering standards & specifications in support of project decision making process
- Working with users to formulate and document business requirements relating to the maintenance management and operation of plant and equipment
- Ensuring operational readiness of new plant and equipment acquired by Fortescue
- Developing safe work plans to facilitate maintenance management of plant and equipment
- Managing the acquisition, correct storage and engagement of spare and replacement parts in plant and equipment
- Development of maintenance system packages for all greenfield and brownfield projects
- Development of asset-based Technical Object structures to support our infrastructure & equipment within our CMMS
- Development of asset management strategies and methodologies for but not limited to the various type of infrastructure and equipment across our Pilbara Operations
- Reviewing and implementing maintenance systems master data standards, processes and procedures
- Analyse business systems data to ensure accurate forecasting and life-cycle costs across our entire Operations
- Development of safe-work instructions and procedures to guide field maintainers and operators to help perform various tasks for both mechanical & electrical assets
- Provide leadership, support, and guidance for all general users of our maintenance systems
- Execute all procurement, and inventory management systems expectations
- Promote continuous improvement solutions for our maintenance systems
- Effective planning long and short-term maintenance activities
- Improve the efficiency of labour and material utilisation
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in information technology, information systems, business or information systems, or engineering
- 5 to 10 years’ experience in maintenance, at either a senior planner level or above
- Substantial experience in mining production or an operational oriented heavy industrial environment
- Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills
- Effective project management, planning and time management skills
- Class C manual WA driver’s licence
