About the Role

Caval Ridge Mine located in Central Queensland currently has an exciting opportunity for qualified Tyre Fitters to join the maintenance team on a 7 on, 7 off day night FIFO/DIDO roster. The successful candidate will work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results.

Demonstrating a strong focus on safety, your primary duties will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Inspection of tyres and related components (e.g. rims) - checking for signs of damage and wear;
  • Replacing Heavy Vehicle, Medium Vehicle and Light Vehicle Tyres;
  • Air pressure inspections;
  • Measuring thread depths;
  • Conducting period end checks of site fleet;
  • Performing monthly stock takes within required guidelines;
  • Embracing and supporting the maintenance departments planning strategy regarding work order management and defect elimination;
  • Ensuring all relevant documents are submitted efficiently and accurately on time for processing;
  • Ability and willingness to conduct other tasks when required.

About You

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Demonstrated commitment to ensuring a safe and environmentally healthy workplace
  • Willingness to maintain high standards of safety, equipment serviceability,
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively integrate into new teams and a focus on teamwork
  • housekeeping and compliance with site procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ‘C’ Class Driver’s license
  • FORKLIFT HIGH RISK WORK LICENCE / TYRE HANDLER EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 3 years tyre fitting experience in the mining industry
  • Cert 2 in Heavy Vehicle Tyre Fitting
  • Demonstrated experience in Tyre Maintenance Systems (TMS)
