About the role
BHP Operations Services is excited to announce that we are offering Indigenous opportunities at our innovative and reputable FutureFit Academy to develop a maintenance career in mining.
You will be paid to study whilst working on industry leading equipment, and will have the opportunity to learn about BHP systems and processes.
Due for commencement in March 2023, the new positions offered are Traineeships which are a 12 month program and, upon successful completion, you will be a skilled and valued maintenance associate with BHP Operation Services - making you work-ready for your first day on site in a trade supporting role.
Initial training will be undertaken fulltime at a training facility in Mackay on an 7 Days/ 7 off / 7 Afternoons / 7 Off. Candidates would need to relocate to the training location if they do not already live locally. As these will be town-based training locations, accommodation or daily transport to training will not be provided. Upon successful completion of a training program, you will commence site-based employment with access to accommodation facilities if you do not reside locally.
You can expect a permanent position and a continual focus on personal development.
About you
You don’t need experience or previous technical study to be successful for these roles. You just need a genuine interest in working with your hands and learning new skills – we can teach the rest.

Ideally, you will have:

- Experience working on equipment such as machinery or vehicles is well regarded, but not essential
