Macmahon are seeking an enthusiastic professional to join our motivated and results driven finance team as a Management Accountant supporting operations with data analysis and reporting. Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Macmahon’s continued success.

Responsibilities include:

  • Prepare, review and analyse operations monthly results including providing monthly management accounts to the Operations team;
  • Business partnering and correspondence with a range of stakeholders in the business.
  • Participates in monthly BU meetings to improve understanding of operations including providing accounting advice as required.
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders and key contacts in relation to project cost controls and commercial related matters.
  • Month end reconciliations & journal preparation
  • Assisting with the half-year and year-end audits including providing support for the compilation of the data required in the annual report
  • Assisting in the yearly budget preparation and quarterly reforecast including uploading forecast and Budgets into systems
  • Provide adhoc reporting and analysis where required to Commercial Managers and the finance team.
  • Continuous development of financial processes and procedures to increase the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting


List essential:

  • Strong management accounting skills; 
  • CA / CPA Qualified (Preferable) 
  • Understanding of financial accounting and the mining industry; 
  • Financial modelling skills;

List desirable:

  • Technically strong accounting skills 
  • Intermediate level Excel skills 
  • Outstanding communication skills; 
  • Hands on approach and pro-active 
  • Ability to work with a range of people in different disciplines and cultures; 
  • Dynamic can-do attitude, team player
