Macmahon are seeking an enthusiastic professional to join our motivated and results driven finance team as a Management Accountant supporting operations with data analysis and reporting. Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Macmahon’s continued success.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare, review and analyse operations monthly results including providing monthly management accounts to the Operations team;
- Business partnering and correspondence with a range of stakeholders in the business.
- Participates in monthly BU meetings to improve understanding of operations including providing accounting advice as required.
- Liaising with internal stakeholders and key contacts in relation to project cost controls and commercial related matters.
- Month end reconciliations & journal preparation
- Assisting with the half-year and year-end audits including providing support for the compilation of the data required in the annual report
- Assisting in the yearly budget preparation and quarterly reforecast including uploading forecast and Budgets into systems
- Provide adhoc reporting and analysis where required to Commercial Managers and the finance team.
- Continuous development of financial processes and procedures to increase the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting
List essential:
- Strong management accounting skills;
- CA / CPA Qualified (Preferable)
- Understanding of financial accounting and the mining industry;
- Financial modelling skills;
List desirable:
- Technically strong accounting skills
- Intermediate level Excel skills
- Outstanding communication skills;
- Hands on approach and pro-active
- Ability to work with a range of people in different disciplines and cultures;
- Dynamic can-do attitude, team player
