Macmahon Holdings are seeking an enthusiastic professional to join our motivated and results driven finance team as a Management Accountant supporting the operation division.
Macmahon is a leading Australian company delivering a comprehensive range of surface mining, underground mining, civil and engineering services to the resources sector throughout Australia and South East Asia.
Reporting to the Finance Manager/Senior Management Accountant the successful candidate will be responsible for:
o Prepare, review and analyse operations monthly results including providing monthly management accounts to the Project Team, Commercial Managers and General Manager.
o Liaising with internal stakeholders and key contacts in relation to project cost controls and commercial related matters.
o Detailed review of allocated project’s monthly transactions and posting required reallocation journals.
o End of month close and completion of all month end journals for allocated projects.
o Undertaking financial analysis and provide advice in relation to financial matters.
o Review of business unit reporting submissions, translation of data to dashboards and graphs for consistency within presentations.
o Providing insightful commentary on the operations within the month end reporting pack
o Preparation and review of month-end reconciliations.
o Review and maintenance of project GRNI accounts.
o Assisting with the half-year and year-end audits including providing support for the compilation of the data required in the annual report.
o Assisting in the yearly budget preparation and quarterly reforecast including uploading forecasts and budgets into systems.
o Review the project budgets/forecasts submissions and discuss commentary with the responsible General Manager.
o Systems and process improvement.
o Ad-hoc tasks as required to support the business operations.
We are looking for individuals who are able to demonstrate:
o CPA or CA qualified
o Minimum 3-5 years' accounting experience with exposure to medium sized public companies
o Strong commercial acumen
o Strong management accounting skills
o Good communication skills – able to interact with both finance and operational stakeholders
o Advanced excel skills and strong attention to detail
o Team player – works as part of a team to deliver results on time at a high standard
o Ability to critically assess outputs to provide value-add to business and management.
o Experience within mining and resource industry preferred
Together with the above requirements you will have the ability to multi-task, be able to demonstrate initiative and have the ability to problem solve and be a quick thinker under pressure. Exceptional communication skills, interpersonal skills and a customer focused attitude are essential in order to achieve positive outcomes.
Should you be successful in being offered the role, you will be required to pass a medical and drug and alcohol test along with obtaining a National Police Clearance.
