About the role

All progress begins with pioneers. At Rio Tinto, it begins with you.

Join the Iron Ore Asset Management and Engineering Services team in a role that elevates you from day-to-day operations and deliver world-class asset management across our Iron Ore operations.

We are looking for a Manager Asset Management to support the Greater Hope Downs and West Angelas region, leading a team of asset management professionals and technical experts in supporting the development and execution of our asset management processes including long term planning and reliability engineering for heavy mobile equipment and fixed plant assets.

This is a great opportunity for a strong leader with significant Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) experience to contribute to the asset strategy for the operations of Greater Hope Downs and West Angelas sites, ensuring the long term outlook for sustainability whilst partnering with the maintenance and engineering personnel to achieve this objective.

We are an open, connected global team that includes some of the industry’s best and brightest minds. We offer competitive, performance-focused remuneration and a wide range of benefits to reward your contribution. With a global reach, the opportunities to develop and grow your career are broad and exciting.

Reporting to the General Manager Asset Management & Engineering Services and working in a collaborative and challenging environment, you will have the opportunity to be the conduit between the Operations and Asset Management and be engaged with the newly deployed Safe Production Systems team.

What you’ll bring

You will partner and provide advice to senior leaders and other key stakeholders across the operations in supporting the business on their transformation journey. Draw on your people leadership skills, harnessed with maintenance and asset management knowledge, to positively develop your team whilst driving safety leadership excellence and positive team culture.

Your experience in HME is highly desirable given the nature of the sites you will be supporting.

Demonstrated leadership in operations, maintenance and/or asset management alongside your passion for improving the business will help us to work smarter each and every day. The successful candidate will have a good working understanding of planning activities from the maintenance perspective and reliability fundamentals to provide the right outcomes for the operations.

Your stakeholder engagement skills and process discipline will be highly developed as you are the link between Engineering, Operations and Mine Technical Services.

A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team is a must for our roles at Rio Tinto.

What we offer

Be recognised for your contribution, your thinking, and your hard work, and go home knowing you’ve helped the world progress.

  • A work environment where safety is always the number one priority
  • A permanent position working directly for Rio Tinto
  • A competitive base salary reflective of your skills and experience with annual incentive program
  • Comprehensive medical benefits including subsidised private health insurance for employees and immediate family
  • Attractive share ownership plan
  • Company provided insurance cover
  • Extensive salary sacrifice & salary packaging options
  • Career development & education assistance to further your technical or leadership ambitions
  • Ongoing access to family-friendly health and medical wellbeing support
