We are looking for a Manager Business Analysis to provide high quality and timely commercial advice to facilitate well-informed decisions and create business value to Rio Tinto Iron Ore (RTIO).
This role is an excellent opportunity for a performance-driven individual and will see you positively leading and influencing whilst working with a senior stakeholder group geographically spread across our iron ore business. Reporting to the General Manager Business Analysis within the Iron Ore Finance department, you will:
- Engage with Senior Leaders to liaise, plan, schedule and assess the financial viability of projects and programmes through appropriate evaluation using detailed financial modelling to identify key drivers for optimising project value
- Actively manage and lead highly skilled professionals, including proactive identification of opportunities for team members' talent and career development and succession planning.
- Prepare Investment Committee and Executive Committee submissions to advise Rio Tinto Group and Product Group senior executives on relevant commercial issues/opportunities
- Support capital projects within RTIO Approved capital budgets.
- Lead and facilitate the Division's generic professional development and training requirements
- Develop the commercial acumen of Business Analysis team members

What you’ll bring
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Tertiary qualification or equivalent in an Engineering, Technical, Finance or Science discipline.
- Demonstrated finance experience preferably within the resource sector
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to coach, mentor and develop a team
- Outstanding financial evaluation and modelling expertise, including high levels of competence with Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated commercial and operational skills
- Ability to conceptualise, define, design, specify and implement business solutions in the context of a rapidly changing global iron ore industry
- Excellent oral and written communication skills enabling the writing and presentation of high-quality reports and other presentation material

Where you’ll be workingYou will be working within the Rio Tinto Iron Ore Finance department. The role is based in Perth, Western Australia in the Central Park building within the Perth CBD.
This role is a roster of Monday to Friday, with agile and flexible options available.
In the Pilbara region of Western Australia, we own an integrated portfolio of iron ore assets: a world-class, integrated network of 16 mines, four independent port terminals, a 1,700 kilometre rail network and related infrastructure – all designed to respond rapidly to changes in demand.
