Manage the commercial and financial analysis of major business decisions such as acquisitions, divestments and major capital developments.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities

• You will be responsible for ensuring that business recommendations and decisions are supported by sound research, analysis, and reliable modelling, in areas such as acquisitions, divestments and major capital developments:
• Assess and review potential acquisition opportunities and make recommendations to the Leadership Team on which opportunities to pursue;
• Support both short term and strategic business planning, as well as operational improvement projects and emerging business opportunities.  Provide advice and participate in potential organisational and financing structures
• Provide advice and recommendations to sites/SBUs based on the life-of-mine models and forecasts for all mining operations
• Manage operational improvement projects that contribute to our diversification and growth

Skills and Experience

• Ideally a Bachelor’s degree in economics, engineering or finance/accounting 
• Experience in commercial and business analysis activities in a mining environment, with a preference for non-coal commodities exposure.
• Exposure to M&A activities and business development initiatives required.
• A solid foundation of business and commercial acumen.
• Experience with due diligence activities and ability to provide a sophisticated level of financial modelling
• Professional and engaging verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability using Microsoft suite of products
