We are looking for a Manager, Business Development that will report through to the General Manager Business Development, based in Brisbane. This position is responsible for the evaluation of internal and external business opportunities supported with analytical rigor, engaging with internal and external stakeholders and cross-functional teams, undertaking industry analysis and developing financial models for potential investment opportunities, preparing materials for presentation at senior management and investment committee level, and supporting the development and execution of product group development projects.
In this role, you will;
- Alongside business development and product group colleagues, support projects aligned with the development and execution of product group
- Provide regular monitoring of investment trends and market opportunities.
- Assess issues, identify risks/opportunities and work with relevant expertise to devise solutions.
- Apply analytical ability with strategic capability to craft well considered business cases.
- Work with high performing teams of subject matter experts from across the business.
- Explore new and innovative opportunities to create value across the business.
- Support product groups with the evaluation of business development activities.
- Develop frameworks, share best practices and inclusively engage with business development peers.
- Engage with product groups and business functions to ensure project alignment with strategy and the application of effective governance practices.
- Collate market intelligence from internal and external sources to support opportunity generation.
What you’ll bring
- Strong commercial acumen with exposure to the mining or mineral extraction industry.
- Advanced financial modelling skills and understanding of key commercial drivers.
- Ability to assume and manage assignments independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with superior report writing skills and effective use of graphical information to succinctly convey complex messages.
- High level of market analysis, judgement, insight and practical experience.
- Demonstrated application of lean project delivery, to generate value and eliminate waste.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, both face to face and remotely.
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to co-ordinate with project teams, absorb complexity and manage ambiguity.

Ideally, you will have:
- At least 10 years of practical work experiences in the mining, resources, investment banking or corporate advisory sectors.
- Corporate development and commercial transaction experience.
- Experience with legal agreements, frameworks and principles.
