Title: Business Improvement Manager
Work Location: Iron Bridge - Fortescue’s Iron Bridge project is located on the traditional lands of the Nyamal people.
Roster: 4/3 FIFO ex Perth (Monday to Friday)
Role overview: Reporting to Iron Bridge Technical GM, this role will be responsible for driving business improvement across Iron Bridge Processing operations, delivering ambitious cost savings and volume targets. This includes supporting, coaching, building excitement, removing roadblocks and driving discipline for improvement efforts across the Iron Bridge Technical and Operations teams.
Key responsibilities include:
- Improving the Metallurgical Accounting process including reporting and reconciliation
- Taking ownership of Technical Process risks including control and verification.
- Driving delivery of ambitious improvement targets across all areas of operations
- Supporting local improvement leads to establish an improvement management system
- Driving excitement and energy around improvement efforts, including recognition
- Removing roadblocks for teams to rapidly delivery initiatives
- Coaching teams on how to use different improvement methodologies
- Establishing routines and metrics and to drive improvement discipline and delivery
- Assist in the identification of opportunities to reduce expenditure, increase production, improve safety and culture
- Stakeholder engagement and facilitate workshops to help ensure the consideration of differing opinions and options.
- Generation of Business Cases, Project Charters & Plans, potentially including Data Analytics & Root Cause Analysis
- Effectively present findings and updates to Management in a clear and concise manner
Qualification and Experience:
- Postgraduate education in a business or mining related discipline or equivalent
- Strong communication / interpersonal / facilitation skills
- Ability to work cohesively with and influence others
- Improvement, Project Management & Change Management experience is desired
- 5+ years of operational experience in a similar role within the Mining or Manufacturing industry
- Experience working within both Operations and/or Maintenance
- Advanced organisation, time management & system improvement skills
