Manager Business Planning
Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people.
Roster: Monday-Friday. Open to part time and job share arrangement
Role overview:
In support of Fortescue’s strong focus on green energy and our carbon neutrality targets by 2030, we have a newly created role of Manager Business Planning.
This role will be responsible for integrating strategy, business objectives, mine, supply chain, improvement and capital plans into holistic business plans. This includes considering scenarios and plan options, linked to clear financial valuations, that span time horizons from within financial year to long term.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead the development of business plans, integrating inputs from across teams
- Ensure these plans are optimised via robust financial models from Financial Planning, utilizing understanding of financial reporting and cash flow information
- Determine key metrics and initiative delivery required to deliver on our business plans, working with teams across Fortescue Metals Group and Decarbonisation.
- Coordinate, prepare and analyse actual performance versus metrics and initiatives, helping steer the focus of the Operations Leadership team
Qualification and Experience:
- Working in business development or strategy in the resources industry, and scenario based thinking
- Working with financial models to make investment decisions, and weighing up value-risk decisions
- Understanding of mine planning and impact to financials and strategic decisions
- Understanding of business improvement, connecting portfolio of value options and risk to delivery in baking in to plans
- Experience building holistic business plans, understanding critical path and risks, and transparently monitoring delivery
