Glencore Copper is seeking a Manager Business Planning & Analysis to support the growth and development of our global Copper Portfolio to be based at our Brisbane office in Australia.

Our Team
The Resource Engineering team is a recently established central function supporting existing and future operations and projects. The team is fundamental in delivering best practice operational performance and long-term strategy at our assets, as well as enabling Glencore’s ambitious growth plans.

This role represents a significant opportunity to work in a high-performance team while supporting world class operations and projects globally. 

The Opportunity
The role will lead implementation and support of the Copper teams Xeras cost forecasting process across existing operations and projects, as well as financial analysis for mergers and acquisitions. 

In this role you will:

  • Lead the current role out of Glencore’s standardised Xeras cost forecasting process across operations and projects.
  • Provide financial analysis and support to the broader resource engineering group including in the business development area.
  • Grow and mentor the business analysis team.
  • Develop and improve existing cost forecasting and financial analysis practices.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships to enable successful implementation of accountabilities. 

Your training, skills & expertise checklist:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Mining Engineering or similar. 
  • 12+ years mining industry experience across mining operations, corporate engineering/consulting, accounting or financial analysis.
  • Significant exposure to mine economics, scenario evaluation and cost estimation. 
  • Demonstrated capability at a manager level leading and developing a team of people.
  • Significant experience in communicating financial and technical information and findings to senior personnel, including non-technical audiences. 
  • Advanced financial modelling and analysis skills.
  • Experience with mine site cost accounting systems such as SAP is preferred.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is an advantage.
  • Ability to travel to Glencore owned sites and other sites globally as required.
