ABOUT PERTH OFFICE

South32’s corporate office is based in the heart of Perth’s CBD. The corporate office houses key functions including HR, Finance, Corporate Development, Investor Relations, Group Risk and Technical. Our office is conveniently located a 5-minute walk from the Perth Underground Train Station.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Manager Climate Change Risk & Reporting in the Sustainability team you will be responsible for supporting South32 to continuously improve how we manage climate-related risks and opportunities, guide effective governance and deliver high-quality reports and disclosures that enable clear, confident decision-makng.

Key deliverables for the role are, but aren’t limited to:

  • Strengthening climate risk management in planning cycles, operational processes and decision-making frameworks across the business.
  • Producing clear, accurate and insightful performance reporting that strengthens governance oversight and supports transparent external disclosure.
  • Synthesising emerging global climate regulation, stakeholder expectations and market developments to help shape South32’s Climate Change Action Plan and disclosures.
  • Enhancing the quality, controls and assurance processes underpinning climate performance data and disclosures through close partnership with technical, reporting and assurance specialists.

ABOUT YOU 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

  • Turning complex climate change information into accessible, engaging written outputs that inform senior leaders and diverse stakeholders (external disclosure experience highly desired).
  • Leading improvements to systems, processes or reporting approaches with a focus on simplicity, reliability and value-added.
  • Building strong working relationships that enable collaborative problem-solving, influence without authority and connection across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Applying analytical thinking and structured judgement to ambiguous or evolving issues, ensuring thoughtful and well-supported recommendations.

Qualifications for this position are: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or similar in engineering, geology, climate change, environmental, sustainability or energy related fields.
