Manager Commercial
Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth office - located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people
Roster: Monday to Friday, with flexible work arrangements available and some site travel required
In support of Fortescue’s strong focus on green energy and our carbon neutrality targets by 2030, we are looking for a Commercial Manager to drive value through effective capital deployment by Fortescue’s Iron Ore Operations.
Reporting to the GM Iron Bridge Joint Venture, this role will be responsible for developing financial performance reporting for Fortescue’s Iron Bridge operations, improving expenditure budgeting/forecasting and prioritisation processes, supporting operational decisions by weighing up risk and value, preparing business cases for decision support and providing commercial and analytical support to the operations teams and senior leaders.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and embed financial performance management
- Improve annual and quarterly expenditure budgeting, forecasting and reporting
- Maximise value through effective capital deployment
- Manage the accurate and timely completion of month end close activities
- Provide commercial and analytical support to operational teams and leaders
- Coaching and training team members
- Work closely with other operational commercial managers and the broader business planning teams to meet corporate objectives
- Ensure compliance with Joint Venture obligations, including Work Program & Budget
Qualifications and experience:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Commerce or Engineering
- Experience in resources sector
- Strong communication and team management skills
- Strong understanding of financial performance management
- Ability to identify opportunities and support valuation thereof and supporting operational decision making
- Ability to develop and maintain insightful expenditure performance reporting
- Joint Venture experience in the resources sector an advantage
