About the role:
We are looking for a highly experienced Manager Corporate Site Support who will be accountable for ensuring office locations for Rio Tinto are effectively supported and providing a valued IT service experience that embodies and leads the “felt experience of our customers”. As a critical role within the Service Experience Leadership Team, you will deliver on our vision, and you will have direct operational accountability for Level 2 Support in all Rio Tinto Corporate offices located globally. This role will also build a strong working relationship with Production Site Support Managers, Customer Experience Manager, and the Manager Global Service Desk to ensure a consistent approach to end users for support is provided.
Reporting to the Manager Service Experience and working in a collaborative and exciting environment within our global Information Technology (IS&T) Technology Platforms team. You will:
- Provide effective leadership and ensure the safety, wellbeing and health of your team is your highest priority by – defining, developing, adopting, and communicating the safety practices and processes needed for effective support of Corporate Sites aligned to Rio Tinto standards, site standards, local regulations, and conditions.
- Build a resourcing plan that ensures Site Support services are delivered effectively to businesses in scope
- Establish, monitor, measure and report to management key information that supports the baselining and improvement targets for Corporate Site Support globally
- Manage and develop your team using a supportive collaborative approach: assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, evaluate results, provide feedback and coaching, and conduct regular performance reviews
- Maintain a continuous improvement plan sharing and leveraging ideas from other Site Support areas to support global improvement in Service Experience
- Work with Operational Readiness, Service Desk and other Site Support leaders to ensure changes to services and new services are effectively transitioned into your Site Support teams
- Implement best practice framework, procedure and systems for establishing a systematic and proactive approach to Site Support and reporting
What you’ll bring:
- Commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and your team
- A relevant degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or extensive relevant experience in General IT roles
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience leading and managing a multicultural Support team ideally in a large and complex organisation
- Ability to work effectively with geographically dispersed teams across different time zones
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of IT Service Management practices, processes, and tools (Change & Release, and Major Incident & Problem Management), and continuous improvement methodologies
- ITIL certification v3 or v4
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, customer service and prioritisation skills
It would also be beneficial if you have:
- Experience in Networking and Applications
- Previous experience in delivering or managing a broad range of IT services and Tier 1 service providers in a global context
As part of a requirements of this role, you will be expected to travel (both domestic and international) occasionally.
