We have a Cost Control Manager position available for a professional who is passionate about supporting a team to deliver a project within budget and adding value to projects. This role is integral to Rio Tinto’s Modern ERP program, supporting the Project Management Office to exceed expectations of all stakeholders.

Reporting to the Integrated Program Lead and working in a collaborative community within our Modern ERP programme, the Manager Cost COntrol plays a critical role in ensuring that all aspects of the project are well-coordinated and that any that the project stays within its budget and financial goals. Your key responsibilities will be:
Overseas the quality and accuracy of the project budget and forecast.
Set up dashboard and reports to meet governance requirements.
Budgeting and ensuing allocation of costs to appropriate cost centers or project phases.
Identify financial impact of scope changes or additional project requirements
Develop and lead the establishment and issuance of cost reports, including cost control curves, various cost reports
Provide technical support to project stakeholders , interfacing closely with other teams such as scheduling and project controls
Close collaboration with 3rd party vendors, commercial and procurement managers
Provide leadership and coaching to team members, managing their development, performance and engagement
What you’ll bring
A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
Strong experience in cost controls for large-scale capital projects
Adept with use of scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.).
Strong attention to detail and reporting experience
Excellent communication and stakeholder management experience
Experience in SAP Activate
Certification in project management or cost control or relevant experience
Degree in finance, accounting, business or related fields an advantage

You may know Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) by the name SAP or Rio Tinto Business System (RTBS).
What is our Modern ERP doing? We’re simplifying our systems and redesigning our core business processes across Rio to make it easier for our people to get their job done. We’ll be upgrading our SAP Rio Tinto Business System (RTBS) from old technology to a new version.
