Title: Manager Electrical Systems – Green Fleet Development
Work location: Perth based (Hazelmere)
Roster: 5/2 Roster (Mon to Fri)
In support of Fortescue’s strong focus on green energy and our carbon neutrality targets, one of our key initiatives will be in our Green Fleet projects whereby we will develop and test a range of technologies to power our mining fleet
Based out our new Hazelmere R&D facility and reporting to the Chief Engineer – Electrical Systems, we are presently looking for an experienced Electrical Systems Manager
Key accountabilities will include:
- Manage, develop and coordinate a team of electrical systems engineers and technicians in activities through from project conception to a final evaluated and tested product
- Recruit staff according to company / project needs
- When abroad, ensure links and good communication between the satellite and home offices
- Mentor junior engineers, developing their experience and skillsets to meet the departmental needs
- Customer Support ensuring project deliverables are met
- Workload planning to strict deadlines and milestones
- Generation of project proposals and quotations
- Maintain positive relationships with all other departments, customers and suppliers
- Ensure that safe systems of work are in place
Qualifications and skills required:
- Electrical Engineering degree or similar
- 20+ years in electrical design and integration
- Strong experience with mobile assets
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent reporting skills
- Strong commitment to safety
