About the Role

Reporting to the Projects Director, the Manager Engineering will provide leadership to a team focused on developing engineering strategies, standards and frameworks that ensure the engineering process and design is optimised and enables safe, efficient construction, commissioning and operation.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develops project engineering strategy, plans, standards, processes, and systems for capital projects to ensure optimal delivery.
  • Accountable to the Project Director for engineering scope, schedule, and cost, ensuring integrated scope, cost, schedule, value, and risk requirements are met, including participation in costing and scheduling evaluations.
  • Manages the availability of project and discipline engineering resources to deliver in line with plan.
  • Approves the evaluation and selection of engineering third parties and leads their performance management.
  • Leads engineering governance and assurance activities to ensure alignment with technical, functional, and business requirements.
  • Manages all of the necessary information to comply with the master program, delivery of on-time engineering in line with the tender and bid process, generate on-time purchase orders of key supplies, all in order to ensure that the quantity of work estimated by engineering does not suffer large variations during execution.
  • Collaborates with Commissioning and Construction to ensure that engineering is developed to be able to support commissioning and construction methodologies, strategies and systems.
  • Collaborates with Discipline or Operations Engineering to create new technical and engineering standards where required for the delivery of the project scope of work.
  • Embeds lessons learned and best practices into operations, driving continuous improvement, capital efficiency, and productivity.
  • Identifies talent and capability and provides input to broader talent planning.

About You

  • Engineering qualification (any discipline).
  • Extensive experience delivering major capital projects (>$300M USD).
  • Experience within mining environment (preferred), including exposure to conveyors, stockpiles, or similar infrastructure.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence internal and external partners, including consultants and contractors.
  • Commercially and technically astute, with the ability to analyse data and deliver clear, concise reports and presentations.
  • Proactive and solutions-focused, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Collaborative team contributor who operates with integrity and builds strong working relationships.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability, with a passion for developing and mentoring others to drive high performance.

This role is Brisbane-based, with relocation support available.
