About Nickel West

Nickel West is a fully integrated mine-to-market business. Our culture is rich with technical know-how, highly efficient and focused on innovation. The business employs over 2500 people from five operations across Western Australia comprising of nickel underground and open-cut mines, concentrators, a smelter and a refinery. We also have plans to expand our operations with new mines in the Goldfields.

About the Role

We are enthusiastically seeking two talented professionals to join our Engineering team in the role of Manager Engineering.

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, these exciting key leadership roles will lead a team of experts, focused on improving and protecting our asset.  You will work collaboratively with our stakeholders and our contracting partners to safely prioritise, plan and deliver the capital portfolio to enable and support Nickel West.  You will also hold responsibility for embedding operational integrity, with a focus on delivering business value and risk reduction.

One of these positions will be responsible for Mount Keith and the other for Leinster / Kambalda

Both roles typically work on a 5/2/4/3 roster however flexible working arrangements can be accommodated

About You

You are a collaborative leader with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholder groups and positively influence business outcomes.  Your excellent communication skills include a deep understanding of stakeholder needs and an ability to support leadership teams by providing context and insight to facilitate decision making and strategic direction. 

You will be able to build trustful relationships within BHP and with our contracting partners.  You will work with the team to establish and maintain a shared vision, role clarity and associated behavioural expectations. You will engage the team by setting clear direction and context, and coach your team to connect their work and priorities to the broader Nickel West objectives.   

Required experience includes, ability to develop people and teams through genuine care, and have strong skills in partnering with contractors. Experience preferred includes, project management & delivery, Engineering (any discipline) and experience within the Resources, Utilities and/ or Infrastructure industries.
