Manager Environment – Global Products

Work Location: Fortescue Centre & Bennett St 

  • Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Noongar people. 
  • Will consider applicants in all Fortescue Office locations. Applicants outside of Perth will need to be able to travel to Perth frequently. 

Roster:  Monday to Friday

Role Description 

The role of Manager Environment – Global Products, will take responsibility for all central environment responsibilities in the international portfolio that relate to the manufacturing and supply chain of Fortescue. This is a new role that responds to Fortescue’s growing portfolio of manufacturing technologies for the green energy transition. A key part of the role is to establish environmental management systems, data and program assurance responsibilities in conjunction with the regions and act as the point of contact for Fortescue’s Sustainability and Global Environment team.  

Key responsibilities include:  

  • The role will lead central environmental management for all of Fortescue’s global manufacturing, supply chain and other new initiatives as required.  
  • It will play a critical link between the Environment and the Green Certification and lifecycle analysis team. 
  • It will lead on the development of ISO 14001 in conjunction with the Global Environment Manager, with the focus of this role on program assurance and a pathway to ISO 14001 for Fortescue’s production facilities. 
  • Due diligence on environmental impacts in the supply chain 
  • Tender submission content when required for submissions related to environment 
  • Some travel may be required  

Qualifications and Experience:  

  • Master’s level degree related to environment or sustainability related topics.  
  • 15 - 20 years of environment or approvals experience   
  • Experience in any of the sectors (Mining, manufacturing, renewables, industry, chemicals, quarrying, waste, high risk /exposure environmental operations)  
  • Accredited auditor / experience in ISO 14001 
  • Risk and safety leadership 
  • Knowledge and experience in any of the key markets USA, Africa, EU, LATAM, Asia.  
  • Experience of group / enterprise environment management systems, audit and assurance. 
  • Experience in translating project related deliverables into group disclosures and targets (I.e Science based targets, nature related disclosures etc)
