Manager – FFI Procurement and Global Corporate Services

Work Location: Perth, WA

Roster: Monday to Friday

The Manager – FFI Procurement and Global Corporate Services owns the strategic agenda and leads teams of procurement and contracting professionals who maximise value delivered through categories and support FFI global transactional procurement governance and administration. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage transactional procurement team to facilitate efficient and effective support to the FFI business
  • Lead and optimise procurement and contracting activities to ensure seamless provision of corporate services for FFI including market analysis, development of category strategies and plans, execution of sourcing strategies, negotiation, and management of approval process for contracts
  • Manage the CPSC governance program including driving and implementing process and systems that manage FFI risk and enable simple and effective use by FFI
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to remain informed of transactional procurement challenges within the global business and identify opportunities for efficiencies and improvements to processes and procedures to support evolving business needs
  • Maintain effective interface with other Fortescue Procurement teams who own and support processes relevant to FFI (e.g. procurement systems, contract management systems, accounts payable)
  • Effectively engage with internal functions that interface with CPSC teams for governance requirements associated with procurement (for example the compliance team).
  • Ensure all team members, regardless of location, feel part of a cohesive team
  • Proactively identify opportunities to develop team member skills and practices to attract and retain talent
  • Build and retain a strong knowledge of CPSC systems, policies and procedures and contract templates, particularly those related to the source-to-pay process including vendor selection and on-boarding, payment verification and invoice processing and identify opportunities for improvement to meet business needs
  • Implement and maintain processes to ensure all CPSC existing and new team members are trained and remain proficient in CPSC systems, policies and procedures, and contract templates
  • Ensure CPSC processes and activities (internal and external) under management, are conducted in a safe, ethical and professional manner and in accordance with Fortescue policies and procedures and values at all times
  • Actively promote effective communication and relationships with all interfacing disciplines, internal and external, in carrying out assigned duties
  • Proactively identify risks to FFI, including how to treat such risks, particularly as they relate to the performance of Corporate Services vendor/supplier obligations

Qualifications and skills required:

  • 15+ years' experience in procurement, supply chain, contract administration and/or procurement systems & processes
  • Strong team leadership and communication skills
  • Commercially astute and familiar with the fundamentals of transactional procurement processes (P2P, ERP [SAP])
  • Highly organised and efficient 
  • Proactive, goal oriented, can skillfully balance attention to detail and big picture focus
  • Excellent customer focus and able to consistently meet the needs of FFI and external stakeholders
  • A person of integrity who is trusted by others and consistently honours their commitments
  • Able to identify issues, problems and opportunities; develop appropriate and innovative solutions; keep Executives informed and ask for assistance if required
  • Able to work on multiple activities and prioritise accordingly
  • Able to work effectively in small to large multi-disciplinary teams, and share and transfer knowledge within teams
  • University degree in commercial/business related discipline highly desirable
