Finance Manager - Based in Collie

The purpose of this role is as a leader of the Worsley Finance team, and member of the Operations Leadership team, you will oversee the operations mining and refinery cost discipline and leadership, finance services, planning, joint venture engagement and governance activities.

This role will be offered on a Permanent basis.

Location

This role will be based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (35 minutes – bus available from Bunbury location only) and other nearby scenic communities.  

As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour’s drive of Collie.  If you are open to relocating to the Southwest support for relocation costs can be available to the successful applicant.

Accountabilities 

Primary:

• Support the Site Leadership Teams, Joint Venture participants and Group Finance by providing insight into actual performance (production, cost and capital) for alignment with forecast, budget and continuous improvement goals
• Govern and control Operation level financial processes and execute period end close activities
• Responsible for the co-ordination and preparation of budgets and forecasts, and ad-hoc strategic analysis and plans
• Ensure internal control within the Operational finance processes
• Actively communicate and work with peers at other Operations to ensure process consistency and support innovation / business optimisation opportunities
• Ensure capital is managed in a disciplined manner
• Support VP Operations in ensuring that the key value and cost drivers are clearly understood and measured (corrective actions implemented, where required)
• Supporting the growth and development of our people within the Finance function

About you

• 10+ years’ experience in large corporate and mining / processing environment
• Ideally listed company experience Finance degree or equivalent (minimum)
• CA or CPA qualified (or equivalent)
• Leadership experience of a professional finance team
• Mining or Processing Operations experience (desirable)
• Good attention to detail, analytical and investigative skills, ability to manage deadlines
• Strong communication skills, ability to work independently and provide coaching
• Collaboration skills, ability to build relationships and work with diverse stakeholders
• Robust commercial acumen
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
