We are recruiting a Manager - Finance Business Partners, who will help shape the future of Finance within Rio Tinto. You will be responsible for leading a diverse team who provide financial and commercial advice to Rio Tinto Iron Ore’s supply chain and services portfolio (Rail, Ports, Utilities, Facilities). We are looking for an enthusiastic problem solver who enjoys challenges and is comfortable to challenge the status quo and present solutions that will help us work smarter each and every day.

Reporting to the General Manager Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for:

  • Partnering: Partner with a broad range of Senior Leaders and operational teams to help them make better decisions, improve business performance, and increase the value of their business.
  • Leading: Lead and develop a team of professionals and be a part of transforming the broader Finance Business Partner team.
  • Coaching: Coach key stakeholders to build their business and commercial acumen to improve cash management (margin, operating costs and capital).
  • Analysis: Improve the way we collect, analyse and present financial data to better understand the drivers of value.
  • Managing performance: Lead the performance management cadence and produce insightful and actionable financial analysis on the performance of the business.
  • Planning & forecasting: Lead the development of the annual plan for the division and support strategic initiatives.

  • Extensive experience in finance, or similarly numerical field (accounting qualification not necessary)

Where you'll be working

This role is based in Perth, at our head office in Central Park, and working Monday to Friday. We want you to have a great work/life balance, so the days, hours, location of work are flexible (including working from home). You will be required to travel to the iron ore operations in the Pilbara.

In the Pilbara region of Western Australia, we own an integrated portfolio of iron ore assets: a world-class, integrated network of 16 mines, four independent port terminals, a 1,700-kilometre rail network and related infrastructure –all designed to respond rapidly to changes in demand. We are one of the world's leading producers and exporters of iron ore.
