About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Manager Financial Governance to join a diverse, highly motivated and results-driven team responsible for ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of the Group’s Financial Governance Framework.
Reporting to the Head of Global Financial Governance, this role will be responsible for:
- Leading a team of four individual contributors located in Australia, Malaysia and Chile
- Building and cultivating strong relationships with our customers
- Management of the Group’s compliance with the US Sarbanes Oxley Act which requires significant engagement across Group Accounting and Reporting, Global Business Services, Internal Audit, Technology, Commercial and other Group Functions
- In FY24 - successful integration of OzMinerals, BHPs recent acquisition, into the Group’s SOX Program
- In FY24 – effectively managing the Financial Governance and SOX impacts of the Group’s upgrade to SAP S4HANA
- Management of the external auditors independent assessment of the SOX Program
- Provide advice and support across the Group in relation to financial statement related governance
- Monitoring external and internal factors that may impact the Group’s Financial Governance
- Working with peers in the broader Financial Governance team to coordinate and drive effective Group-wide outcomes.
About You
- 8+ years significant financial governance experience
- Significant experience with the Sarbanes Oxley Act
- Significant Experience in SOX design, testing and Certification
- Experience working in Big 4 accounting firm and SEC environment (internal and/or external audit)
- Superior communication, facilitation, influencing and interpersonal skills, essential to building constructive relationships and credibility with diverse stakeholders and cross functional teams
- Significant post-qualification experience in a multi-entity, large international corporate environment.
- Leadership skills in global multi-cultural environments and ability to lead and manage change.
- Experience in Mining, Heavy Manufacturing and/or Industrial industry work environments preferred.
- Maintains the highest professional ethics and standards.
